Would NASCAR star choose birth or big race?

NASCAR Sprint Cup defending champion Jimmie Johnson is hoping his first child will be born in the time he has off between a Sprint Cup race in Chicago on July 10 and the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis on July 29. Johnson's wife, Chandra, is due in mid-July, a fan site reported today.

Otherwise, "There could be a situation where I've got to make a tough decision," Johnson told Gary Graves of USA Today.

Johnson seems committed to attending the birth, as he has named Aric Almirola as his backup driver in the coming weeks. Johnson has won the Sprint Cup series four times. So far this year he is in seventh place.
